30 years...........

12-31-83........... It just seems impossible to me that 30 years have passed.  It's especially hard to believe since in my mind I am only 29 years old.......... Yes it is true 30 years ago today Q and I were married.  I remember it being a day not unlike today cold, and wintery I remember my daddy going down to the church I grew up in to turn the heat up early that morning so it would be warm. That beautiful old Methodist church that is no longer. I have so many wonderful memories in that church like Sunday school and Christmas services and dinners.  I was married by a minister who I adored who helped me find my way to Jesus.  At that time in my life I couldn't wait to get out of that hick town. Now I would give my right arm to go back to that place in time.  But it's true you can't go home. I can hardly drive through the town its changed so much as well as the people and the places. Yes 30 years is a long time. I wore a dress I made as well as my bridesmaids, Wanda Moore Moon. I carried a dozen roses, because they were and have always been my favorite.  Such fond memories in this precious place. As I reflect I'm reminded of all the wonderful things I have to be thankful for. I'm thankful my parents raised me to stay together, they set an example of love and respect for each other. We don't always agree but I listen, then do what I want.  I'm thankful that Quentin was so much like my daddy he reminds me of him daily. I'm mostly thankful for my Adam and the wonderful man he has become. He was the most fun kid you have ever seen, we enjoyed him so much and continue to enjoy him and his family everyday.  Blessing after blessings I can tell you about over the years. I feel so fortunate that through good times and bad we are still together.  So thanks for the memories Q and here's hoping for 30 more..........happy new year and happy anniversary!

*yes I have braces.....a mere child bride
